At Freeland Foot & Ankle Clinic, we don’t just serve the community; we’re a part of it as well!

You can find us at many local festivals, races, fundraisers, and other events each year. Our community has so much to offer, and we’re proud to join in on the fun and hard work alongside those who allow us to perform the work we love as well.

Here are many of the events around Freeland we have been at recently. If you haven’t been to one, why not give it a try next time it rolls around? You might just see us there!

2nd Annual Runnin' With the Falcons 5k 2024abbie running

The 2nd Annual Runnin' with the Falcons 5K kicked off on Sunday, June 2nd. Cindy and her daughter arrived bright and early to assist with packet pick-up. Among the dozens of runners was our very own Abbie. This was her first time running a 5K, and she finished with a time of 46:43. The race itself was organized by Len Harrington, and proceeds above the costs of organizing the race will go to the Freeland Youth Football League. All in all, it was a great day with even greater support from the community, and we were so grateful to be a part of it!

Freeland Walleye Festival 5K/10K Run/Walk 2024 walleye fest

Cindy, Destiny, and Abbie set up FFAC's booth at one of our favorite events of the year: the annual United Financial Freeland Walleye Festival 5K. We had a great time visiting with runners and walkers from the community, comprised of familiar and new faces alike. Handing out information to help those struggling with foot and ankle issues was a great way to spend our Sunday morning. Congratulations to all of the participants!

April Kade 8K Run/Walk 2024 cindy

Every year, friends of the late April Kade organize an 8K in her honor, held in Freeland. The proceeds of registration fees and donations benefit the Awesome April Scholarship Fund. Or Director of Community Relations, Cindy, was set up a booth and provided education, resources, and support to dozens of local runners. Participating in events like the April Kade 8K is a great way for our team to get connected with the community. We love that this is our first event of the spring each year becuase it kicks off race-season perfectly.

Warming Soles Sock Drive 2024 socks

Our 5th Annual Warming Soles Sock Drive was our most successful year yet! As a community, we were able to collect and donate 341 pairs of brand-new socks. Freeland Foot and Ankle team-member Cindy was able to hand-deliver the collected socks to the Underground Railroad of Saginaw, an incredible organization providing help, shelter, resources, and empowerment to victims of domestic violence. These socks will be distributed to those who need them most. We are honored to have had the opportunity to give back to the community that we call home.

Freeland Wellness Fair 2024 Cindy and Abbie

This year, FFAC team members Cindy and Abbie set up a booth at the Freeland Wellness Fair, held on March 14th at Freeland Elementary School. We offerred parents and students information on common pediatric foot problems and got the word out about our services. It was a wonderful event where we had the opportunity to mingle with other local businesses in the community. Everyone came together to share the gifts of health and wellness with our Freeland Community. Finally, back by popular demand, students visiting our booth had the opportunity to spin our famous prize wheel. Stickers and St. Paddy's Day beads were the most popular prizes of the evening. We can't wait for next year!

Kids' Day at the Midland Mall 2024cindy mall even

Our first event of 2024 sure was fun! Our receptionist, Cindy, and her daughter spent Saturday January 27th at the Midland Mall partaking in a Kids' Day event hosted by the Midland Recyclers. The event featured booths by a variety of local businesses. Among other goodies and prizes, we did a drawing for one lucky community member to wil a pair of Saginaw Spirit tickets! We were so happy to see so many smiling faces and share information about taking care of little feet. This is the second time FFAC has attended this event and we can't wait till next year!

Greater Midland Dow Run/Walk 2023Dr. Dailey, Ryan Sweeney, Tiffany Bateson

Team members Tiffany and Ryan joined Dr. Dailey as volunteers at the Greater Midland Dow Run/Walk 2023. The team helped race coordinators by indicating an important turn for runners of the race's half-marathon. Other events at the region's second-largest foot race included a 10K, 5K run and walk, 1 mile walk, and a Tot Trot. Our team had a great time directing runners and spending time outside on what turned out to be a beautiful late-spring day.

11th Annual All Men's Health Fair 2023christiana and abbie at the men's health fair

Abbie and Christiana teamed up to present an informational booth and the 11th Annual All Men's Health Fair, held at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw. Members of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity hosted the event, and we are so grateful to be included for the second year. We thoroughly enjoyed connecting with the community and sharing information with the men in attendance to help them take charge of their health. Men, on average, pass away 7 years sooner than their female counterparts, and 1 in 2 men are diagnosed with cancer. These statistics inspired the fraternity to host this free event to help men of all ages take personal responsibility and get healthy so they can be there for their families for years to come.

Freeland Walleye Festival 5K/10K Run/Walk 2023dr dailey and destiny

The Freeland Walleye Festival is an annual tradition for our community, and it is always so exciting to get involved as a team. We joined in on the festivities by enjoying the food trucks for lunch and participating in the 5K. Our team set up a booth at the Freeland Sportzone where the race was held. Dig Deep Racing organized a perfect event despite less-than-perfect weather (rainy and cold for the second year in a row!). Despite the cold, we had a blast interacting with existing patients, friends, fellow runners, and potential patients. Dr. Dailey was only able to convince one team member to join him, and MA Destiny rose to the challenge and completed the race alongside him.

April Kade 8K Run/Walk 202Abbie and Christiana3

Our team was honored to set up a booth and provide education, resources, and support to dozens of local runners. Participating in events like the April Kade 8K is a great way for our team to get connected with the community and spend time together outside of the office. We look forward to next year!

Freeland Wellness Fair 2023abbie and tiffany sitting behind the booth and donated bikes at the freeland wellness fair

This year, FFAC team members Christiana, Tiffany, and Abbie packed up prizes, candy, and of course some educational materials, and set up a booth at the Freeland Wellness Fair, held on March 14th at Freeland Elementary School. We offerred parents and students information on common pediatric foot problems and got the word out about our services. It was a wonderful event where we had the opportunity to mingle with other local businesses in the community. Everyone came together to share the gifts of health and wellness with our Freeland Community. Finally, we raffled off 2 childrens' bicycles, and seeing the winners' smiling faces was the highlight of the evening!

Kids' Day at the Midland Mall 2023ffac booth

Christiana, Abbie, and Tiffany packed up some goodies and headed out to the Midland Mall for their first annual Kids' Day! We were a popular booth among some tough competition, including the 4-H, who brought a plethora of barnyard animals like goats, bunnies, and chickens. At the Freeland Foot and Ankle table, kids could spin a wheel to win a variety of prizes. We enjoyed taking selfies with dozens of kiddos, giving moms and dads all the information they need to take care of their kids' feet, and, as always, connecting with our community.

Warm Hearts, Warm Soles Sock Drive 2023Tiffany and Christiana

Our 4th Annual Warm Hearts, Warm Soles Sock Drive was a big success this year. As a community, we were able to collect and donate over 200 pairs of brand-new socks. 1st Annual Shoe-Sizing Day 2022An 8 year old child sits in a large blue exam chair. Dr. Dailey is wearing a mask and holding the child's shoe as he measures his feet.

When it comes to caring for little feet, we're the experts! Caring for a child's feet when they're young can make them less likely to experience foot problems later in life. This year, we hosted our 1st Annual Shoe-Sizing Day! Parents in the community were invited to bring their kids into the office on Saturday August 20th. Once checked in, we measured their feet, analyzed their gait, and provided our recommendations to keep their feet healthy during the upcoming school year. The kids were all given a treat for coming in, and their parents were given a goodie bag as a little thank you for bringing them in. We hope Mid-Michigan has a great start to an even greater school year!

3rd Annual Move Your Feet Virtual 5K 2022Dr. Dailey with glasses and beard wearing a gray freeland foot and ankle t-shirt and showing a bronze medal with a blue ribbon

This year we encouraged the community to get up and moving with our virtual 5K. Participants were allowed to complete the 5k (3.1 miles) at their own pace and in their own time! We had participants complete all 3.1 miles in one go, and a few who split it up over the course of the week that they had to complete it. Everyone received a medal as well as some FFAC goodies. Dr. Dailey and the team headed out to the Freeland Sportszone and invited the community to join in and do the 5K together in our first Walk With The Doc. No matter how the race was completed or how long it took, the important thing is getting outside and moving your feet. We love encouraging the community to stay active, and we already can't wait until next year!

Flip Flop the World Shoe Drive 2022Shoe Donations

This year, the team had collection boxes at the office, Pure N-rgy Fitness, and the Saginaw City Hall. We were able to collect just over 500 pairs of shoes. We had a variety of local food trucks set up shop in our parking lot as a little treat to those who donated (our staff enjoyed their lunches that week, too!). As a community, we were able to donate these desperately needed shoes to the East Side Soup Kitchen in Saginaw, MI. We love having this opportunity to give back to those in need!

The run benefited the Awesome April Scholarship Fund, and the Freeland Foot and   Ankle team is honored to have been included in this outpouring of support from our amazing community. We  had a booth set up with information for runners about stretching, orthotics, foot pain, and more!

The Freeland community has an annual 4-day celebration with a 5K race, carnival, car show, fair, and parade!

This was the 2nd year the FFAC team walked in the parade. We handed out 25 pounds of Airheads candy and more than 60 bags of Goldfish crackers. Mrs. Dailey drove Dr. Dailey’s 1966 Ford Mustang. We had friends and family walk in the parade with us and each year a lucky family member gets to wear “THE FOOT,” a giant foot costume, and take pictures with members of the community.

Freeland Foot & Ankle Clinic at Flip Flop the World: Shoe DriveFlip Flop the World: Shoe Drive – June 10th-13, 2019

Donated to the East Side Soup Kitchen

Over a 3-day span, FFAC and the community came together by bringing shoes, socks, and foot care products for children and adults to the FFAC office. We collected 651 pairs of shoes and 81 pairs of new socks. During the shoe drive, we had a different local food truck each day from the surrounding areas.

In addition to providing hot meals to the community, the East Side Soup Kitchen provides clothing, books, nonperishable foods, medical testing, and helps educate its guests about useful resources in the community.

The shoes and socks were donated by local businesses, neighborhoods in the Freeland area, and patients. All 651 pairs of shoes were distributed to those in need within 2 days by the East Side Soup Kitchen.

Freeland Foot & Ankle Clinic Patient Appreciation DayPatient Appreciation Day – August 7, 2019

Music by Major Chords for Minors.

In 2019, FFAC had its very first Patient Appreciation Day!

We had a parking lot party open to our FFAC patients, their families, and future patients. FFAC gave away more than 60 snow cones on a very hot August day, along with free face painting and 10% off all our products.

Dr. Dailey and the team were able to mingle with patients and meet their families, and it was a great time to get to know our patients more.

In addition to all the fun, we had a live band as the midday entertainment. Major Chords for Minors is a nonprofit group providing opportunities for youth to explore and cultivate their musical talent through private instruction, without a fee. FFAC donated to the organization with hopes MCFM keeps up the great work by providing free classes to youth.

School Supply Drive – September 2019

FFAC had a School Supply Donation Tree. Patients could take an apple off the tree in our office lobby, and on each apple was listed a school supply. The patient would then return with the supply and apple they had picked. The donation would then be taken to a classroom in great need of the most basic supplies.

The “Pick an Apple, Plant a Smile” school supply drive was a huge success, and FFAC was able to donate 3 large boxes to a classroom of 16 children. Some of the donations included markers, Kleenex boxes, glue sticks, Lysol wipes, children’s puzzles, etc.

Benefitting Underground Railroad: Saginaw.

FFAC was able to donate over 25 children’s costumes to the children in the Underground Railroad program with help from doctor offices and patients in the Freeland community. We collected costumes both new and gently used for a few weeks and had a great response. The donation had created a lasting relationship between FFAC and Underground Railroad, and we will continue to volunteer with them.

Freeland Foot & Ankle Clinic at Hemlock, MI Turkey TrotTurkey Trot: Hemlock, MI – Nov 2, 2019

The FFAC team was in attendance at the Hemlock, MI Turkey Trot 5/10 K race 2019 to kick off fall & winter races. The race was hosted by TriToFinish, a local professional racing company.

Dr. Dailey was there to meet and answer any questions walkers and runners had before they raced. The FFAC team had our booth set up with educational literature, freebies and our spinning wheel! More than 300 runners and walkers participated in the Turkey Trot.

These are just a few of the many events we are proud to have been a part of this year, and we hope we are able to participate in many more in the future—because our Freeland community is what makes our practice the success it is today!
